The Story:
Back in 2005 I graduated from North Carolin State University with a BA in Sociology and History. At the time I had no idea that a liberal arts degree let alone two, would be worth absolutely nothing upon graduating! It's bad enough not having any experience for a job upon graduating but having two liberal arts degrees is apparently much worse! So I started working at Enterprise Rent-A-Car to establish some real world experience, no just kidding, I got a North Carolina real estate license instead and then the housing bubble popped!
While I was looking for another job I often hung out with my friend Nick Newbill who was at the time an IT guy and amateur yet gifted web designer. He advised me to get into the IT field because there was always going to be job openings available. Nodding my head in agreement, I then noticed Nick was playing with a program called Photoshop CS1. I said that looks like fun and instead of looking for an IT job I began learning graphic art design and web design while ignoring monster.com completely.
I got a job managing apartment communities after I networked with my handy NC real estate license. Since I was the property manager and the property needed a website, I outsourced myself to make it happen. Once the website debuted the company started asking me to to do the same for their other properties as well as create online marketing ads. Needless to say I know longer manage property and I am still outsourced for graphic design needs, social media promotion and a webmaster for several attorney websites.
Over the years I have had the pleasure of meeting, networking and learning from several talented web designer and graphic artists. As a kudos to their own talents, those people formally are Nick Newbill, Max Alley, Steve Overton, Griggs Hampton, Jared Card and my snazzie wife Courtney Patterson. More over, with having such a knowledge base to pull from it became more efficient to form officially Wicked Web Art.
